KT UniExpo: ‘UAE varsities a safer option amid Covid pandemic’

More students are looking at university campuses in the UAE for higher education options as Covid-19 cases surge across the globe. Several parents and students who attended day 2 of the second edition of Khaleej Times UniExpo said they have adopted a “wait and watch” approach before making a final decision.

Safety a priority

Indian national Manish Salvi, who attended the Expo on Friday, said: “My daughter Nidhi is in Grade 12 at JSS Private School. Considering the current climate, we are trying to be safe. A lot of myths about university campuses based in the UAE were busted after our interactions at the Expo.”

Seminars address varied topics

On one of the many online seminars, officials from Education in Ireland – Eamon Sikafi, commercial counsellor, and Jack Larkin, market advisor – spoke to prospective students and parents about the features of the Irish educational system.
