A number of private schools in the country now have mobile medical clinics on campus as part of efforts to keep students and staff safe from Covid-19 and prevent the spread of the virus.
These clinics are equipped with isolation rooms, where anyone with symptoms can stay until medics confirm that they are not infected. They will be allowed to stay in the room for up to 18 hours, Khaleej Times has learnt.
Mahalakshmi Suni, a nurse at a private school in Sharjah, said the mobile clinic’s medical team also checks the temperature of students, teachers and staff regularly. Medical examinations are done on board, too.
“The school used to have only a small clinic where a doctor and a nurse could attend to students who fall sick or sustain injuries. Now, with Covid-19 still around, the school has decided to step up efforts for everyone’s health and safety,” Suni said.
