Inspectors to ensure all trades and customers are following precautionary measures to fight Covid-19.
Only animals from the Ajman cattle market can be taken to the emirate’s abattoirs, especially on the first day of Eid Al Adha, the municipality said.
Residents will not be allowed to bring in sacrificial animals from other places, and selling livestock outside the market is also strictly prohibited.
Abdulrahman Al Nuaimi, director-general of the Ajman Municipality, said inspectors have been stationed within and outside the cattle market to organise operations and ensure all trades and customers are following precautionary measures to fight Covid-19.
Ajman residents may offer their Eid Al Adha animal sacrifice and request slaughtering services from abattoirs in three ways, Al Nuaimi explained. One is by directly purchasing sacrificial animals from the livestock market and the other is by placing an order via the smart app ‘My Slaughtering’.
The third method, he said, is by reaching out to charities so that the sacrifice can be offered on their behalf.
